SUMMARY:Mountain River Ecospiritual Circle at UUCGF
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join in a Full Moon ritual inspired by earth-based spiritual traditions\, deep ecology\, Joanna Macy’s Work the Reconnects\, and nature itself. We gather monthly to support one another’s spiritual growth and direct our collective energy toward the well being of all beings. \nThe intention of our circle is to support your individual spiritual exploration and growth while connecting Pagans and others in a local\, welcoming group. Within our sacred space you will honor the Earth\, open to Mystery\, and strengthen your connection to Nature. Our inclusive circle is open to all\, including Pagans\, Wiccans\, Witches\, Druids\, Heathens\, and those exploring or curious about any ecospiritual path. No ritual experience is necessary. \nUnless we are blessed with an unusually warm and dry fall evening\, we will meet inside in the Community Room\, straight ahead when you enter the main door. Our full moon gatherings will typically follow this format: announcements\, centering\, connecting with local wild beings\, casting the circle\, calling the directions/elements\, meditation or other practice\, ritual\, releasing directions/elements\, closing the circle. Participants are welcome to stay after the circle is closed for informal social time. Our circles will be family-friendly\, but we ask that children not participating in the ritual remain in the room with quiet entertainment. \n\n\n\n\nOur October circle for the Moon Before the Dark will include circle-created storytelling inspired by tarot cards and some drumming. If you have a drum you are invited to bring it. There will be some drums to borrow if you don’t have your own. \nSome of our circle members like to bring their journals to record any insights. You are also welcome to bring items from nature to add to our altar\, as well as crystals or other sacred items to charge. We typically sit on the floor or ground for circle\, however there are chairs available and several circle members use them. We have some backjacks and yoga blankets available to sit on and you may also bring your own cushion or blanket for that purpose. \nYou are welcome to walk the labyrinth before or after the circle. SUMMARY:Samhain Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Gather virtually with like-hearted souls to celebrate the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain\, honoring the final harvest\, the ancestors\, and the shift into the dark\, reimagined for modern times by practitioners of Wicca and other neo-Pagan traditions. By engaging in ceremonies throughout the year\, you reconnect with the Earth’s rhythms and cycles and remember the ancestral wisdom you carry in your DNA. \nDuring the Samhain (pronounced soo-ween) ceremony\, you will by guided in a journey with the shamanic drum\, receive a group animal spirit oracle card reading\, and participate in a ritual of sending messages to those who have passed. And we will be honoring barred owls and their energy. Through the virtual platform you will be able to see the ceremonial altar\, as if you were in circle around it. \nPlan to be present for about an hour. This ceremony will not be recorded\, so please mark your calendar. \nIf possible\, please have a journal or paper and something to write with\, and\, for the ritual\, a piece of  paper\, a pen\, small cast iron pot (or other fireproof container) on a heatproof pad\, a tealight candle\, and a lighter or matches. If you do not have some or all of those items\, they will be on the ceremonial altar as well for the benefit of everyone participating. Options will be given for those who cannot safely burn paper indoors.
