Together\, in ceremony\, we will celebrate the midpoint of astrological winter and the promise of spring to come. \nDuring the Imbolc ceremony\, you will by guided in a journey with the shamanic drum\, receive a group animal spirit oracle card reading for Imbolc season\, deepen into interconnection with the groundhog\, and participate in a powerful ritual of faith in new beginnings and growth. DESCRIPTION:Debbie will be presenting at a Virtual Conference of Pagan Throught & Practice. The theme is “The Perilous Passage: Creating Culture and Connection in Treacherous Times.” \nFrom the conference website: Recent events have ushered us into a time when it is increasingly unsafe to be different. Whether the difference is rooted in religion\, sexual orientation\, gender identity\, nationality\, or race\, individuals and communities face growing threats to their safety\, identity\, and very existence. Join us as we collectively imagine and articulate ways to sustain difference\, foster safety\, and build resilient cultures in times of uncertainty and transformation. \nDebbie’s presentation is “Wild Community: Pagan spirituality centered in saving Earth’s biodiversity.” Pagans often differ in their beliefs\, but most agree we feel a connection to the Earth and more-than-human life. We are drawn to the mystery and wonder of the wild. Climate and extinction crises threaten our beloved Earth community\, but there is hope to be found in our culturally-based care for nature. With inspiration from new animism\, deep ecology\, and shamanism; ideas from authors such as Stephan Harding\, Deborah Bird Rose\, David Abram\, and Starhawk; and anecdotes from Debbie’s work as a wildlife rehabilitator\, this talk reveals why saving the Earth’s biodiversity should be an imperative for all Pagans. Debbie invites support and protection of wild beings with practical how-tos for tending life-affirming ecosystems large and small\, and shares ecospiritual practices and rituals that invoke the magic and mysticism of nature and ground one in an expanded sense of belonging in the wild world. DESCRIPTION:Debbie will be one of the instructors for North Country Wild Care’s Introduction to Turtle Rehabilitation class for licensed wildlife rehabilitators in northeastern NY.\n\nDue to their unique anatomy\, injured turtles are challenging to rehabilitate but releases are very gratifying. Learn turtle care in the rehabilitation setting. We will begin with basic turtle physiology\, discuss intake\, triage\, and stabilization\, then cover husbandry\, including dry docking during recovery\, wound management\, and water setups in preparation of release.\n\nWARNING: The presentation will include graphic photos of turtle injuries. The class (and turtle rehab) is not recommended for those who are sensitive to blood or severe injuries.\nWe are being hosted by a North Country Wild Care sponsor in Saratoga Springs\, NY. We gather monthly to support one another’s spiritual growth and direct our collective energy toward the well being of all beings. \nThe intention of our circle is to support your individual spiritual exploration and growth while connecting Pagans and others in a local\, welcoming group. Within our sacred space you will honor the Earth\, open to Mystery\, and strengthen your connection to Nature. Our inclusive circle is open to all Pagans\, including Wiccans\, Witches\, Druids\, Heathens\, and those exploring or curious about any Pagan path. No ritual experience is necessary. \nWe meet in the Community Room of the UU building\, straight ahead when you enter the main door. Our circles will be family-friendly\, but we ask that children not participating in the ritual remain in the room with quiet entertainment. \nSome of our circle members like to bring their journals to record any insights. You are also welcome to bring items from nature to add to our altar\, as well as crystals or other sacred items to charge. We typically sit on the floor for circle\, however there are chairs available and several circle members use them.
