Podcast Ep. 109: A Prayer For Peace

I set aside my plan for this episode to instead record a meditative prayer for peace. I am following the invasion of Ukraine with a heavy heart, and this is my small offering towards cultivating peace, light, hope, and love in our world. I also pray that I can return to a serious but somewhat lighter topic next week. May this prayer for peace be so.

I did not mention my Patreon in this episode, but I would like to welcome my new patrons. Thank you! If you like this podcast and would like me to keep recording new episodes, please visit my Patreon page and become a patron for as little as one dollar a month. When you do, you will have access to patron-only guided shamanic journeys to meet animal helping spirits and read posts about the animals’ symbolism and archetypal energy as well as the natural history and conservation challenges those animal face in their living incarnation. As you work with different animals, you connect more deeply with the natural world and may be inspired to advocate for one of the wild beings you resonate with.

If you would like to chat about this episode and connect with others who share your love for the wild beings, join the Shamanic Flow Circle group on Facebook and get the free Guide to Getting Real when you sign up for the email newsletter, which is full of moon magic and upcoming virtual events.

Much love and gratitude to Blair Sutherland for the beautiful intro and background music. Blair is also an outstanding webmaster and makes sure I can share these episodes with you. Thank you, Blair!

While the yoga and other practices presented are intended to be accessible to most, please be open to practicing in an appropriate and safe way for you. It is recommended that you consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program and that at any time during a practice you feel nausea, dizziness, or pain you stop and seek medical advice. I accept no liability whatsoever for any damages arising from the use of my podcasts and, while I make all reasonable efforts to share accurate instruction, the podcast may contain unintended errors. Before all else, listen to your body and trust your inner knowing.

Podcast Ep. 107: Practicing Love

Before I recorded this episode, I sat outside for meditation, as I do daily, watched the squirrels, and contemplated love. The squirrels have been flirting with each other of late, but the love I was thinking of was not the romantic kind, but the deeper, divine love at the center of our beings – yours, mine, the squirrels’, and all beings’. The practice offered is my twist on Metta, or the practice of loving kindness. You can sit for meditation anywhere you are comfortable.

Podcast Ep 102: Tree Meditation for Balance

Welcome to 2022! Like me, the podcast is changing and growing, and future episodes will feature both new and familiar practices. In this first episode of 2022, you will be guided through a tree meditation I wrote as part of a climate justice-themed worship service I am putting together as a seminary project. With a tree, through breath, connection, and love, you find balance.

Join us on Zoom on February 3, 2022, to celebrate Imbolc! You will find information and registration at https://debbiephilp.com/virtual-workshop-and-ceremony/

Podcast Ep 57: Making Space for Really Loving Yourself

My theme for February is really loving myself. When the Firefly card from Kim Krans’ The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit deck showed up asking what I was doing to be ready for a creative burst, I wondered what I would do when that flash was over. Through lots of practical magic in January, I’d opened up both time and physical space for some creative projects but, if I am really loving myself, I need space for feeling low energy or uninspired, too. This episode’s yoga practice is perfect for those times. Grab a yoga strap or a creative substitute and unroll your mat.

Podcast Ep 21: Meditation to Experience Your Divine Essence

In response to a listener request for meditations, this episode guides you through an experience of white healing light and love – your divine essence. I pulled the Iceberg card from Steven Farmer’s Earth Magic oracle deck to start us off. You won’t need anything except a place to sit comfortably and quietly for 20 minutes.
